The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin spoke during the Countdown to UNILORIN @50
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin spoke during the Countdown to UNILORIN @ 50 program on the university radio.
He explained the tireless efforts the management has put in place and continues to implement to address transportation issues for students.
He said part of the plan to ease student transportation is the launch of 200 electric buses and 50 CNG buses. The 50 CNG buses were initially expected by September, but they have not yet arrived. However, some of the measures to improve transportation will be visible on campus in the coming days.
A listener called in to complain about the stress students face, having to board three different forms of transportation before reaching their destinations.
The VC responded that if everything goes as planned, students will no longer need to take two or more buses from outside the gate to their destinations on campus, as the plan is to establish destination parks across the campus.
