UNIBEN Post UTME Form 2026/2027 Is Out

The management of the University of Benin has officially released the Post UTME screening form for 2026/2027. All candidates who selected UNIBEN as their first choice and meet the minimum JAMB score requirement are invited to apply.

The University of Benin — UNIBEN — located in Ugbowo, Benin City, Edo State, is one of Nigeria's most respected federal universities. Established in 1970, UNIBEN has built a formidable reputation across Law, Medicine, Engineering, Pharmacy, and the Sciences. Competition for admission is intense every year and the Post UTME screening is the stage where admission is won or lost — your JAMB score gets you eligible, but your screening performance determines whether you get in.

UNIBEN Post UTME Registration Dates 2026

The confirmed registration window for UNIBEN 2026/2027 Post UTME is: - Opening Date: Registration Open Already June 2026 - Closing Date: Thursday 3rd July 2026

Based on the 2025/2026 session pattern where the application opened at 8:00 am on Monday 4th August 2025 and closed at midnight of Friday 22nd August 2025 with no extension, UNIBEN is firm about its deadlines. The 3rd July 2026 closing date is the confirmed window for this session. Register early — do not wait for the final days click here to get your registration here.

What Is the Cut Off Mark for UNIBEN Post UTME 2026?

The general cut-off is 200, but competitive courses may require higher scores.

Only candidates who applied through JAMB for the 2026 UTME and Direct Entry Admission, chose the University of Benin as their First Choice, and scored 200 and above for UTME candidates are eligible for this Screening Exercise.

The 200 general minimum means candidates below this score cannot even purchase the UNIBEN Post UTME form. For competitive programmes, the practical threshold is significantly higher:

  • Medicine and Surgery: 250 and above to be genuinely competitive
  • Law: 240 and above
  • Pharmacy: 230 and above
  • Electrical/Electronics Engineering: 230 and above
  • Other Engineering programmes: 220 and above
  • Sciences and Management courses: 200 to 220 depending on the department

This general cut off mark applies to all faculties. However, competitive courses like Medicine, Law, Pharmacy, and Electrical/Electronics Engineering often demand significantly higher departmental cut-offs.

How UNIBEN Calculates Your Aggregate Score

Once the UNIBEN post UTME test is written, UNIBEN computes an aggregate score using a balanced formula: Aggregate = (JAMB score divided by 8) + (Post UTME score divided by 2).

For example, if you scored 280 in UTME and 60 in Post UTME, your aggregate would be: (280 divided by 8) + (60 divided by 2) = 35 + 30 = 65.

This formula means your Post UTME score carries as much weight as your JAMB score in the final aggregate. A candidate with 260 in JAMB who scores 80 in Post UTME will have a stronger aggregate than a candidate with 300 in JAMB who scores 40 in Post UTME. This is exactly why preparation for the Post UTME screening is not optional — it is where your aggregate is built or damaged you can use this to calculate yours aggregate calculator.

How Much Is the UNIBEN Post UTME Form?

The screening fee is N2,000 excluding portal charges. An additional registration fee of N3,000-N5,000 is also required. to apply click here
